A 7th Continent discovered?

(updated 11.14."12)

The French Court is feverishly buzzing with rumours. A Navy Captain would have ‘secretly’ reported to the King the discovery of an immense new Continent somewhere in the Pacific Ocean. Could it be fabled Mu or half-forgotten Lemuria(*)?

Actually a brother gamer (of the SOCDAISY?) is currently developping a Lace Wars campaign on the RPG planet Harn. Could not it be, in parallel, more or less integrated in ‘our’ campaign as a 7th, almost antipodean, continent? The laws of physics are relaxed in our universe: space and time are elastic, with e.g. at least 3 known ‘Frances’, and Malburians coexisting with Napoleonics. The Pacific Ocean is wide enough to contain a whole new Continent. Distance would preclude any actual interference with the ‘main’ «Emperor vs Elector» European campaign, but diplomatic missives could be exchanged and wanton threats of military intervention brandished.
---
(*): Seemingly the (European) name 'Lemuria' is synonymous with 'Mu', 'Lemur§' signifying 'inhabitant of Mu' in one of the major local languages (the erroneous denomination ‘Mu-Mu' comes from the last mumblings of a dying shipwrecked sailor, poor soul who tried to give the Justified and Ancient name of his native land).

This 7th Continent will for sure see new colonial expeditions and conquests, but who know how bizarre, even 'alien', the Native Cultures can be? Daring explorers can expect amazing discoveries and swashbuckling adventures

One can be sure that Monte-Cristan agents will be among the very first Europeans to go there and friendly ‘immerse’ among the Natives.

NEW LANDS

Actually in the 'Eve' 18th C. several 'additional' (groups of) large islands / small continents are scattered in the Indian and Pacific Oceans; Harn, but also:

- Lentulia where Christian colons from the Kingdom of Jerusalem settled in ca 1150 AD; contact with Europe was lost until the mid-16th C. -by then the native population had be absorbed. New Jerusalem is now divided in rival countries.

- English Royalist refugees from the ECW founded a 'Kingdom in exile' in Pacifica.

- Europeans have begun building 'Treaty Ports' in a large island, first in the Nobelongga area.

- In the North-Western Pacific Amerigo is the land of an old, isolated branch of Humankind.

- South of the Equator the great Land of Mu is populated by diverse ethnical groups: 'primitive' -some obviously heirs of a great but now regressed civilization- with orange skin; a very advanced culture of Aïnu stock; some small groups in peripheral islands with black skin (Melanesians? But for some their legends about their ancestors 'bound to Mu-Mu land' refer to Opar and Zimbabwe) and yellow skin-maybe a trace of a stop of Zheng He's great fleet?

No one knows is the list is closed!
